Science

The Science programme at Pinewood encourages all students to explore and ask questions about the world they live in. Students participate in hands-on investigations and problem based learning with the aim of promoting scientific curiosity in a collaborative setting. The programme has a strong focus on developing scientific skills such as posing questions, gathering data, reaching conclusions and communicating results. Units are chosen from the biological, chemical, physical, earth and space sciences.

Technology and Robotics

Pinewood Primary has an extensive range of resources to engage students in the area of STEM. Our dedicated robotics learning area provides practical opportunities for students to become confident and creative developers of digital solutions. With the support of a specialist STEM teacher, students identify and analyse problems, create and share information and collaboratively apply problem solving strategies. Our programme provides an opportunity for each year level to acquire a deep knowledge and understanding of digital systems.
