Visual Arts
At Pinewood Primary School, our aim is to deliver an exciting and engaging Visual Arts Program that enables students to develop skills, techniques and processes in the following discipline areas:
- drawing, painting and printmaking
- construction and clay modelling
- collage and textiles
All students participate in a 45 minute session each week, focusing on skill development in particular or combined areas, in accordance with their developmental stage.
By enabling students to experiment with a broad range of materials and styles, we endeavour to nurture individual expression and creativity, cultivate aesthetic awareness and develop an understanding of the elements and principles of art and design.
Through the study of various artists and their works, students will be encouraged to identify specific art styles and discuss their responses to selected art work.
Participation in the Visual Arts Program fosters group participation, problem solving, confidence, persistence, time management, responsibility, risk taking and personal pride.
We invite all parents and carers to view our ongoing displays of student art work throughout the school and to contact the art teachers if they have a special skill or talent they would be willing to share with the school community.
All current and archived art work is presented on the school’s Pinterest Page at the following site:
